We remove the complexity and give you peace of mind:

  • We provide you with well-researched but simple, easy-to-understand facts about what you need to do to comply in each state you operate in

  • We handle all the registration and expense disclosure filings for your lobbying activities

  • We communicate with your government affairs staff, lobbyists and the relevant government ethics offices to make sure everyone is aligned and following the compliance rules

  • We provide training if needed to your staff to help them know the do’s and don’ts of compliance

  • We will refer you to experienced campaign finance attorneys in the rare instance where unique compliance issues come up

HERE’S THE REALITY: 99% of compliance issues can be prevented by good training, timely communication, and proper paperwork filings. The Simple Ethics program was designed to provide these elements to you at a competitive fixed monthly cost.

The program is primarily intended for nonprofit 501(c)(3) and 501(c) (4) organizations engaged in lobbying activities at the state and federal level, although we may be able to help other types of organizations or with other types of compliance needs—just let us know what you need help with.

The Clarendon Group is not a law firm, and these services do not constitute the practice of law. Any legal advice or legal action would need to be handled by an outside law firm, but with a great compliance program, that should be a rare occurrence.

COSTS AND PROGRAM SETUP

Monthly costs for the Simple Ethics Solutions are generally based on the number of states in which you are doing advocacy work. During an initial consultation we will work with you to identify your needs, and then will provide you with a customized quote. The monthly cost ranges from $600-$3,000, depending on the complexity of your operations and the specific states.

If you aren’t actively lobbying yet, but would like access to the Simple Ethics program for information about lobbying registration, disclosure, or gift laws, we can provide those at a lower one-time or ongoing cost (as the information is updated regularly as the laws and rules change).

We work primarily with nonprofit 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations who are lobbying state or federal officials, although if you have other types of advocacy compliance needs, we might be able to help.
